DNA has sold the world's first Jolla phones

The long-awaited world premiere of the Jolla took place at DNA's event on Narinkkatori in Helsinki. The first batch of mobile phones was sold to 450 fans who had made pre-bookings for their Jollas. The very first Jolla owner is Henri Huttunen, 18 year old high schooler from Espoo. 

”I have been longing for Jolla phone for 18 months, from the day Jolla was first published. Now finally I got my own! Queuing at the DNA event was just pure fun, talking with all the other guests who share the same interest”, said Huttunen.  

”The first call I’m going to make is propably to my girlfriend”, Huttunen continued smiling. 

"Welcome to the Jolla community. Now we will kick off co-creation with you. We continue our development work to ensure that Sailfish OS is continuously the best OS available," said Marc Dillon, Head of SW, Jolla. 

More Jolla smartphones will enter the market in December. Thousands more in Finland have made pre-bookings. After all pre-bookers have been given the opportunity to buy their Jolla, the device will be available to everyone at DNA Kauppa shops in Finland in early December, and through jolla.com in other parts of the world. 

“Demand for the Jolla has truly exceeded our expectations. The atmosphere at this event is a pretty strong sign that the Jolla is a welcome alternative on the mobile phone market”, says Cedric Kamtsan, the manager of the Jolla project at DNA. 

DNA has played an integral part in the product development and commercialisation of the Jolla and is the operator with the exclusive right to sell Jolla phones in Finland during the mobile's launch stage.
