As Gripping as a Movie! Announcing Beppu, The Onsen Journey, a Video for the Whole World That Depicts the Birth of the Beppu Hot Springs in a Miraculous Location over 2.6 Million Years
25.6.2020 06:00:00 EEST | Business Wire | Press release
Beppu City’s tourism economy was hit with an unprecedented shock as COVID-19 began to spread in April of this year. Never in our history have we seen visitors drop to nearly zero, especially during the weeklong holidays in May. We struggled through those months, and have entered a new phase where we believe we can begin to hope that the COVID-19 curve has flattened.

Beppu City has begun to look toward a recovery in tourism demand once the fear of COVID-19 has been eliminated. To that end, we are releasing a public relations video, Beppu, The Onsen Journey, on June 25, to be shared not only throughout Japan but across the globe as well. Directed by Yuki Yusa, professor emeritus and geo-physicist at Kyoto University, the video looks back at 2.6 million years of history, weaving together computer graphics and actual imagery to view the history and majesty of the Beppu Hot Springs on a global scale. This video is as powerful and as gripping as a real movie.
Our hope is that now, when an in-person visit to Beppu is not possible, that viewing the video will let everyone see how miraculously situated Beppu is, with its wealth of natural hot spring resources, and see how wonderful it will be to enjoy those hot spring resources to the maximum extent.

Grid Dynamics Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: GDYN) (“Grid Dynamics”), a premier AI transformation partner for the Fortune 1000, today announced the successful deployment of a hyper-personalized digital shopping experience for Galeries Lafayette, the iconic French department store. By integrating Google Vertex AI Search for Commerce with the proprietary Grid Dynamics Merchandising Experience Platform (MXP), the retailer has modernized its search, navigation, and recommendation engines across its web, client, and seller applications. The initiative addressed significant challenges posed by a legacy search stack that struggled to manage a vast catalog of 600,000 products, including 350,000 from third-party marketplaces. This complexity often led to poor search relevance and high manual workloads for merchandising teams. The new platform provides a tailor-made experience for each visitor, leveraging real-time data ingestion to ensure accurate product availability and pricing. During peak commerci
