Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s service location in Tampere is moving – Exceptions to in-person services during the move 29.-30.6.2022

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency's service location in Tampere will move, at the end of June. Tampere’s service location will therefore be closed on Wednesday 29 June and Thursday 30 June 2022.

Our telephone services and e-services will serve customers as normal during the whole move process.

The new facilities for in-person services will open on 1 July. – book an appointment to make your visit go more smoothly

As from 1 July 2022, the Digital and Population Data Services Agency’s customer services will serve customers, in person, again in the new address, Hatanpään valtatie 36. The in-person customer services are mainly open by appointment, so we recommend that you book an appointment in advance. We serve customers without an appointment from Monday to Friday between 9:00 and 15:00. Please be prepared to queue if you do not have an appointment.

Most matters do not require you to visit us

Most matters do not require you to visit the Digital and Population Data Services Agency in person and can be managed in the electronic channels or through the telephone service. You will find all our e-services at https://dvv.fi/en/use-our-services-electronically.

However, if the matter requires you to visit us in person, book an appointment to our service location in advance at https://dvv.fi/reservation or call the service-specific customer service number. This way you will avoid unnecessary waiting at our customer service facilities.

Digital and Population Data Services Agency (The Finnish Digital Agency)

Digital and Population Data Services Agency (The Finnish Digital Agency) promotes the digitalisation of society, secures the availability of information and provides services related to customers’ life events.

The Digital and Population Data Services Agency (The Finnish Digital Agency) sees to the maintenance of the Population Information System, which is the foundation for our society, and to the digitalisation of society. The agency’s tasks include civil marriages, name and address changes, guardianship and administrative guardianship, maintenance of the Population Information System, development of solutions for electronic identification, as well as the development and maintenance of centralised support services for e-services. E-service support services include the Suomi.fi Web Service, electronic messages from authorities (Suomi.fi Messages) as well as authorisation for acting on behalf of another party (Suomi.fi e-Authorization).

Digital and Population Data Services Agency was founded in 2020 and it operates under the Ministry of Finance. Agency was created when the Population Register Centre and local register offices were merged to form a single agency in 1.1.2020.

95 procent av finländarna använder en smart enhet, men en tredjedel behöver fortfarande hjälp med att använda digitala tjänster. En ny medborgarundersökning som Myndigheten för digitalisering och befolkningsdata låtit göra visar att Finland är redo för det digitala tidevarvet. Största delen av finländarna behärskar användningen av digitala tjänster och är villiga att lära sig mer. Samtidigt behöver en del medborgare stöd och önskar tydligare och mer användarvänliga lösningar. Undersökningen har genomförts som en del av projektet Prioritera Digitalt, som bereder övergången i första hand till digital myndighetspost under 2026.

Digi- ja väestötietoviraston (DVV) teettämä uusi kansalaistutkimus osoittaa, että Suomi on digivalmis. Suurin osa suomalaisista hallitsee digipalvelut ja on halukas oppimaan lisää. Samalla osa kansalaisista tarvitsee tukea ja toivoo selkeämpiä ja helppokäyttöisempiä ratkaisuja. Tutkimus on toteutettu osana Digi ensin -hanketta, joka valmistelee siirtymää ensisijaisesti digitaaliseen viranomaispostiin vuoden 2026 aikan

Det automatiska datautbytet om personer som flyttar mellan Finland och Estland inleddes den 2 december 2025. När någon flyttar från det ena landet till det andra meddelar inflyttningsstaten detta till utflyttningsstaten, som då i sitt eget befolkningsregister antecknar personen som utflyttad. Då upphör personens adress och hemkommun i utflyttningsstaten.
