According to the new agreement, the cooperation between DNA and the City of Espoo will be expanded to include a jointly agreed service management model in addition to telecommunications equipment and interfaces. In its service management, DNA invests especially in proactive operations, continuous improvement of services and support for the City of Espoo's business development.

DNA has been a supplier of telecommunications services to the City of Espoo for more than ten years, and the new agreement is about expanding and deepening the cooperation.

"The City of Espoo is an important customer for us, and we are delighted that our cooperation is expanding. Espoo is knowledgeable customer and has plenty of expertise on telecommunications and demanding projects like this," says Kenneth Grönroos, sales director at DNA

Smart City Espoo is based on first-class services and service management

The City of Espoo expects DNA, like other suppliers, to develop operations and services on its own initiative and to be customer-oriented.

"The aim of the tendering process is to bring significant improvements to the quality of services and the way in which they are implemented, using e.g. the latest technologies, tools and automation. The supplier's proactiveness and the ability to make high-quality and well-prepared development proposals will be the most important requirements for cooperation," says Pauli Sinivuori, the IT manager at the City of Espoo.

With the agreement, DNA’’s services to the City of Espoo will include network monitoring and management services, telecommunications equipment maintenance services, additional telecommunications connections, network security technology, equipment facility maintenance and telecommunications expert services. DNA is also building fibre infrastructure, and a joint project will be launched to develop the services.

The agreement is valid until further notice.

Smartphone use is declining among small children – but limiting the use is not enough20.5.2026 09:15:00 EEST | Press release

DNA is consistently developing children’s digital safety skills together with its partner Protect Children Association, which has been organizing digital safety workshops for young schoolchildren for several years. This spring, the company also distributed digital skills exercise booklets to more than 230,000 Finnish homes. Although children are starting to use smartphones later than before, they still face major risks online – which makes digital safety skills more important than ever. The topic is particularly relevant right now, as school summer holidays begin before many parents start their own vacations. In June, many children spend long periods at home and online without adult supervision, which increases the risk of encountering harmful content or inappropriate contact.

Electronics often overlooked in spring cleaning – old devices should not be left at the back of a drawer19.5.2026 13:00:00 EEST | Press release

During spring cleaning, old phones, tablets and cables often end up back at the bottom of drawers in many homes, as people are unsure what to do with them or are unfamiliar with proper recycling methods. According to Jesse Kieksi, Head of Device Sales at DNA, this is a harmful habit that can lead to data security and safety risks, as well as unnecessary financial loss and environmental harm.
