The telecommunication operator DNA and Kiinteistö Oy Pikipruukki have agreed on the delivery of DNA’s broadband and TV services to Pikipruukki residential houses in Vaasa. The agreement covers approximately 3,600 apartments. Planning work has been started and the network construction work required to connect Pikipruukki residential houses to DNA’s network will continue until next autumn, with all the apartments being connected to DNA’s network in early 2021.

DNA’s broadband and TV services will be available to all apartments in the Pikipruukki residential houses as a service that is included in rent.

The speed of the DNA broadband delivered to Pikipruukki residential houses has been agreed to be the basic speed of 10 Mbps. If residents need a faster connection, they have the option of ordering that for their apartment at a price that is lower than the standard price, with the maximum available speed being as high as 1 Gbps, that is, 1,000 Mbps. Depending on the technology used in the building, broadband is delivered to the apartments through either the building’s internal antenna network or an Ethernet connection.

DNA’s cable television services will also be provided for all Pikipruukki buildings. All apartments will be receiving the free basic channels in DNA’s cable network. In addition, residents can order the channel packages they want as well as the DNA TV Hub, which combines the internet, television and applications into one easy package.

"We are excited to have the opportunity to serve the largest rental housing operator in the area and to promote the comfort of residents in terms of fast internet connections and television content. Many are already using DNA’s mobile services, which we can now supplement and provide a diverse package including home internet and entertainment services,” says Tiitus Ranta, DNA’s Sales Director.

In the past two years, DNA has increased its investments in the development of broadband and television services in the economic area of Vaasa, as it built an ultra-fast fibre optic network in the area. With DNA’s broadband and television services being now available in Vaasa, other large property owners and individual housing companies in the region will now also have more freedom of choice.

“In addition to services provided to homes, we can now significantly promote the development of the offering aimed at corporate customers by introducing new competition in the area, which we think is clearly needed here,” says Ranta.

The buildings will be connected to DNA’s network in a phased manner according to a building-specific schedule, with a more detailed schedule to be agreed as the planning and work proceed during 2020. The residents will be informed of the service deployment schedules well in advance.

The agreement concluded between DNA and Pikipruukki covers a fixed-term contract period of four years starting from January 2021. The competitive bidding process for the agreement was coordinated by Learnpoint Oy, a leading consultancy company in the field. The process was carried out in accordance with the Act on Public Procurement and Concession Contracts.

Harmillisen tutussa tilanteessa puhelin sammuu juuri silloin, kun on ottamassa kuvaa kauniin lumisesta maisemasta. Miksi näin käy? Päätimme selvittää asian ja keräsimme samalla kasaan vinkkejä, joilla puhelimen saa kestämään vähän paremmin kylmillä keleillä.
