DNA achieved ISO 14001 certification for its work on environmental management. ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system. Achieving compliance with the standard demonstrates DNA’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

‘DNA has always worked systematically to mitigate the environmental impact of its business, and now independent assessment confirms our operations. ISO certificate guarantees to our customers that we run a sustainable, state-of-the-art business and that our management systems and processes are of an internationally recognised standard’, explains DNA’s Sustainability Manager Tuuli Nummelin.

The environmental management system is based on DNA's climate work

For more than 10 years, DNA has been doing climate work in accordance with the GHG protocol. DNA has managed to reduce its emissions in Scope 2, the largest category of its own operations, by more than 50 percent since 2015.

DNA is involved in the Science Based Targets initiative. At group level, the target is a genuine, i.e. emission-free Scope 1 and 2 in the Nordic countries by 2030, and that at least two-thirds of DNA's suppliers would be covered by the SBT targets by 2025.

The environmental management in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard started at DNA in 2022.
