DNA’s environmental management system given ISO 14001 certification

Share
DNA achieved ISO 14001 certification for its work on environmental management. DNA’s environmental management system was assessed by an impartial body in the summer of 2022, in addition to which the company’s integrated management system was audited across DNA’s various offices in the autumn of 2022.

ISO 14001 is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system. Achieving compliance with the standard demonstrates DNA’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

‘DNA has always worked systematically to mitigate the environmental impact of its business, and now independent assessment confirms our operations. ISO certificate guarantees to our customers that we run a sustainable, state-of-the-art business and that our management systems and processes are of an internationally recognised standard’, explains DNA’s Sustainability Manager Tuuli Nummelin.

The environmental management system is based on DNA's climate work

For more than 10 years, DNA has been doing climate work in accordance with the GHG protocol. DNA has managed to reduce its emissions in Scope 2, the largest category of its own operations, by more than 50 percent since 2015.

DNA is involved in the Science Based Targets initiative. At group level, the target is a genuine, i.e. emission-free Scope 1 and 2 in the Nordic countries by 2030, and that at least two-thirds of DNA's suppliers would be covered by the SBT targets by 2025.

The environmental management in accordance with the ISO 14001 standard started at DNA in 2022.

Koulujen kännykkäkielto näkyy mobiiliverkossa: Datamäärät laskeneet paikoin merkittävästi, mutta koulukohtainen vaihtelu on suurta14.10.2025 08:30:00 EEST | Tiedote

Suomessa on elokuusta 2025 alkaen ollut voimassa lakiin perustuva kännykkäkielto peruskoulun oppitunneilla. Oppilaiden mobiililaitteiden käyttö on kielletty oppituntien aikana ilman opettajan lupaa, ja tällöinkin lähinnä opetukseen tai terveydenhoitoon liittyvissä asioissa. DNA:n tekemä vertailu kouluja palvelevien mobiilitukiasemien kautta kulkevan datan määrässä osoittaa, että kännykän käyttö kouluissa vaikuttaa pääosin vähentyneen –, joidenkin koulujen alueilla jopa merkittävästi.

The mobile phone ban in schools can be seen in the mobile network: Data usage has decreased significantly in some areas, but school-specific variation is huge14.10.2025 08:30:00 EEST | Press release

Since August 2025, a law-based mobile phone ban has been in effect during primary school lessons in Finland. Students are prohibited from using mobile devices during lessons without the teacher’s permission, and even then, only for educational or healthcare-related purposes. A comparison conducted by DNA on the amount of data passing through mobile base stations serving schools indicates that mobile phone use in schools has generally decreased – in some school areas even significantly.

Tutkimus: Valtiolliset toimijat vasta toiseksi suurin kyberturvallisuuden huolenaihe suomalaisyrityksille8.10.2025 10:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

DNA:n teettämän tuoreen tietoturvatutkimuksen* mukaan 70 prosenttia Suomessa toimivien yritysten ICT-päättäjistä on huolissaan kyberturvallisuudesta. Konkreettisessa varautumisessa on yrityksillä kuitenkin petrattavaa, sillä vain reilu neljännes harjoittelee kyberkriisitilanteita ja toiminnan palauttamista. Merkittävimpänä huolenaiheena pidetään yhä tietojen joutumista vääriin käsiin. Valtiollisiin toimijoihin kohdistuvan huolen osuus on laskenut hieman edellisvuodesta, mutta niihin liittyvä uhkakuva nähdään edelleen vasta toiseksi suurimpana. Tietoturvaan tehtävät investoinnit ovat puolestaan edelleen kasvussa.
