Espoo aims to open Matinkylä and Leppävaara Service Points on 1 June

The reopening of the Matinkylä and Leppävaara Service Points depends on whether practical arrangements to guarantee staff and client safety can be planned and implemented in time. We will for example equip all customer service spaces with protective counter screens.

“We will make the final decision on the reopening of the Service Points later in May. We will publish further information as soon as the matter has been decided,” says Customer Service Director Kirsi Remes.

The City of Espoo closed the Service Points in Leppävaara, Espoonlahti and Matinkylä in March and April due to the exceptional situation caused by the coronavirus.

The Service Point in Espoonlahti will stay closed for a while longer than the other two. With a gradual return to normal, the City of Espoo wants to avoid a situation where it would have to close its Service Points again.

“We will reopen the Service Points gradually to ensure that we have enough staff. Some Service Point employees have been transferred to other tasks brought about by the coronavirus epidemic, such as advising sole entrepreneurs on how to apply for operating support,” Remes says.
