Finnish Immigration Service’s report on operations for 2022 has been published

Share
In 2022, Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine affected the work of the Finnish Immigration Service in many ways.

Last year, the number of people applying for asylum or temporary protection was higher than ever before. More than 47,000 Ukrainians applied for temporary protection in Finland.

The immigration of international professionals increased, and the Finnish Immigration Service continued to improve the permit processes concerning residence permits issued for work and studies.

Suomessa pilotoidaan paluiden edistämiseen erikoistunutta vastaanottokeskusta9.5.2025 12:00:20 EEST | Tiedote

Maahanmuuttovirasto testaa kesäkuusta 2025 alkaen uutta paluiden edistämiseen erikoistuvaa vastaanottokeskusta (lyh. paluukeskusta). Paluukeskus tarjoaa turvapaikanhakijoille normaalien vastaanottopalveluiden ohella laajennettua paluuneuvontaa ja palaamisjärjestelyiden tukea. Tavoitteena on tehostaa turvapaikanhakijoiden vapaaehtoista paluuta ja sujuvoittaa poliisin toteuttamien palautusten täytäntöönpanoa.
