Foreign Minister Haavisto to attend Munich Security Conference

The 59th Munich Security Conference brings together policymakers and experts in the field of security policy from around the world.
The Munich Security Conference is an opportunity to exchange views on the current foreign and security policy situation. This is the first time the Conference is held after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine in February last year. The Conference discussions will focus on the impact of Russia’s aggression on global security questions.
In connection with the conference, Minister for Foreign Affairs Pekka Haavisto will have bilateral meetings with many of his ministerial colleagues. He will also meet foreign policy researchers and opinion-makers from international organisations, among others.
“The Munich Security Conference is an important opportunity to discuss security policy questions that matter to us together with a wide range of colleagues and experts. These discussions are all the more important because of the dramatic changes in Finland’s security policy environment over the past year,” says Minister Haavisto.
President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö, Prime Minister Sanna Marin, Minister of Defence Mikko Savola and Minister for European Affairs and Ownership Steering Tytti Tuppurainen will also be attending the Munich Security Conference.
