Global technology leader in photonics, Jenoptik, selected Scanfil as a preferred manufacturing partner

Jenoptik is a German-based global technology leader in photonics and mobility solutions. They selected Scanfil as one of their manufacturing partners in prototyping, PCBAs, box-build, product design, and development.
The collaboration started with prototyping and small series together with the design and development services. Scanfil serves Jenoptik from multiple sites in Europe: Wutha in Germany, Malmö, and Åtvidaberg in Sweden, and Sieradz in Poland.
Scanfil finds its partnership together with Jenoptik extremely interesting and attractive. Jenoptik is a fast-growing global leader in photonics and it has very good growth prospects. Growth in Central Europe is one of Scanfil’s strategic growth targets and new customer acquisition is the key to success.

Scanfil rekisteröitiin kaupparekisteriin 4. kesäkuuta 1976, kun Jorma J. Takanen aloitti yritystoiminnan veljensä autotallissa Sievissä, Pohjois-Pohjanmaalla. Yhtiön nimi viittaa sen ensimmäisiin tuotteisiin, suodattimiin, mutta liiketoiminta löysi pian uuden suunnan mekaniikassa ja elektroniikassa. 1990-luku oli Scanfilille voimakkaan kasvun aikaa. Liikevaihto kasvoi viidestä miljoonasta eurosta 220 miljoonaan euroon. Yhtiö listautui Helsingin pörssiin vuonna 2002 ja kansainvälistyi laajentamalla toimintaansa Unkariin, Kiinaan ja Viroon. Tänään, 50 vuotta perustamisestaan, Scanfil on globaali sopimusvalmistaja, jolla on 16 tuotantolaitosta neljällä mantereella ja yli 4 700 työntekijää. Scanfil was registered with the Finnish Trade Register on 4 June 1976 when Jorma J. Takanen started operations in his brother's garage in Sievi, Finland. The name of the company refers to its first products, filters, but the business soon found a new direction in mechanics and electronics. The 1990s were a time of strong growth for Scanfil. Turnover increased from EUR 5 million to EUR 220 million. The company was listed on the Helsinki Stock Exchange in 2002 and became international by expanding its operations to Hungary, China and Estonia.
