Share

Minister for Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade Ville Skinnari will visit Copenhagen on 7–8 April.

The aim of Minister Skinnari's visit to Copenhagen is to promote cooperation between Finland and Denmark especially in the green transition. The post-COVID-19 recovery measures in Europe offer plenty of growth and cooperation opportunities for companies in both countries as well as an excellent framework for joint expansion to global markets. During the visit, the Minister will have meetings with Denmark’s Minister for Food, Agriculture and Fisheries Rasmus Prehn and Minister for Development Cooperation and Minister for Nordic Cooperation Flemming Møller Mortensen. Minister Skinnari will also meet representatives of Danish business life and Danish business leaders.

As part of the visit, representatives of Finnish companies specialising in renewable energy sources will make a Team Finland trade mission to Copenhagen. They will have an opportunity to meet such Danish business giants as Haldor Topsøe, Ørsted and Mærsk and to network with the most important operators in the Danish energy sector. The Team Finland business delegation coordinated by Business Finland includes seven Finnish companies: Elomatic Consulting & Engineering, Flexens, Fortum, Hycamite TDC Technologies Ltd., Neste, Soletair Power and VTT Technology Research Center.

The purpose of the ministerial visit and Team Finland’s trade mission is to advance the establishment of partnerships with Danish operators also on global markets.

“Denmark and Finland have common ambitious climate and energy objectives, which offer much potential for collaboration. Global demand for low-carbon solutions is on the increase. Finnish and Danish companies can offer sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions to both European and global markets,” Skinnari says.
