If you are unable to visit a vaccination site, you can get vaccinated at home
All Espoo residents can get the coronavirus vaccination if they want it. The fastest way to get vaccinated is to visit a vaccination site. If your functional capacity is reduced and you are unable to visit a vaccination site, you can get vaccinated at home. Underlying health conditions, use of assistive devices, age or fear are not obstacles to getting vaccinated at a vaccination site.
“We want to make sure that the vaccine is available to all Espoo residents who want it. We offer home vaccinations to residents whose reduced functional capacity prevents them from visiting a vaccination site,” says Sanna Svahn, Director of Social and Health Services.
Vaccinations at home are given in the vaccination order determined by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL). You can check the groups whose turn it is to get vaccinated at espoo.fi/coronavaccination.
You can request to be vaccinated at home by calling Nestori – Guidance and Service Counselling for Senior Citizens
Espoo residents of all ages whose turn it is to get vaccinated can request to be vaccinated at home by calling Nestori – Guidance and Service Counselling for Senior Citizens. The staff at Nestori will interview you or your family member and examine your patient data. Based on their findings, they will refer you to be vaccinated either at a vaccination site or at home.
A small mobile team of nurses is in charge of coronavirus vaccinations at home. You may have to wait for your vaccination at home for several days, even weeks. A mobile team nurse vaccinates around ten clients during their shift. Vaccinations at home take time because the nurse will stay with the client for fifteen minutes after administering the vaccine to monitor the client’s condition.
The vaccine and vaccination at home are free of charge. The vaccine is given in two separate doses. If a person has received the first dose at home, they will also be given the second dose at home. The mobile team will contact the client when their time to receive the second dose approaches.
You can request to be vaccinated at home by calling
