Investigation of possible misconduct at the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS)
The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), headquartered in Copenhagen, has informed the Ministry for Foreign Affairs that an internal investigation has been initiated into possible misconduct by the Chief Executive of UNOPS Sustainable Investments in Infrastructure and Innovation (S3i) initiative.

The investigation is being conducted by the UN Office of Internal Oversight Services (OIOS), which is the internal oversight body of the UN, exercising operational independence under the authority of UN Secretary-General. UNOPS will provide further information on the matter as the investigation proceeds.
The UNOPS S3i initiative Office is located in Helsinki. UNOPS reported this matter to Finland and in accordance with our agreement, Finland has suspended its funding for S3i until the matter has been investigated thoroughly. The Chief Executive of UNOPS S3i initiative has been put on administrative leave.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs takes any allegations of possible misconduct in partner organizations very seriously. The Ministry follows this issue very closely and emphasises that all details of this matter must be examined carefully and systematically.
