Kempower has agreed to provide funding for Finland’s first PhD in E-Mobility at Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT (LUT University).
The academic program is being established to provide Finnish technology companies with the latest research data, plus support innovations and businesses in e-mobility solutions. Kempower will provide EUR 100 000 to fund the PhD in E-Mobility for the first five years that it is offered.

“EV charging systems are an integral part of the E-Mobility infrastructure, and the related research and technological development provides excellent challenges for researchers in the field of technology. We are happy to do this work with technology companies,” said Olli Pyrhönen, Dean, LUT University’s School of Energy Systems.

“As a fast-growing technology company in the field of e-mobility, we are delighted and proud to support this unique PhD. It’s important that we have research and training opportunities close to our operations in Lahti. Establishing this PhD in E-Mobility will increase the availability of skilled employees in the region, plus opens up the possibility of cooperating further with LUT University,” said Tomi Ristimäki, CEO of Kempower.

"In today's society, only the universities, cities and regions that offer innovative and interesting education opportunities relating to technology will thrive and help local business to flourish," added Tomi.

Kempower is committed to working closely with academia and researchers and being close to students from technology-focused universities and polytechnics. In September 2021, the company announced its intention to open a new research and development center at Finland’s Tampere University Campus. Kempower will initially recruit 15 research and development professionals to work at the facility.

Kempowerin datan mukaan latauspisteiden määrän lisääminen kasvattaa julkisen latausaseman käyttöastetta25.8.2026 16:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Kempower on julkaissut uuden raportin, jossa analysoidaan yhtiön ChargEye -latauksenhallintajärjestelmään liitetyistä julkisista latausasemista eri puolilta Pohjois-Amerikkaa saatavaa dataa. Tulokset osoittavat, että latauspisteiden lukumäärällä on huomattavasti vahvempi yhteys latausaseman käyttöasteeseen kuin aseman lataustehon kokonaismäärällä. ChargEye on Kempowerin pilvipohjainen sähköajoneuvojen latauksenhallintajärjestelmä, jolla latausoperaattorit voivat ohjata ja optimoida latauslaitteiston ja ajoneuvojen lataamista. Raportissa tarkastellaan, miten latausaseman suunnittelu voi vaikuttaa käyttöasteeseen, jaettuun tehoon ja aseman pitkän aikavälin kannattavuuteen. ChargEyen data osoittaa, että latauspisteiden lukumäärällä on noin kolme kertaa suurempi vaikutus aseman käyttöasteeseen kuin asennetulla latausteholla. ”Julkisessa lataamisessa infrastruktuurin käyttöaste on yhä tärkeämpi kysymys tehonjaon rinnalla,” sanoo Kempowerin Pohjois-Amerikan markkinoista ja tuotteista vastaav

Denverin julkiset koulut ja Winn-Marion ottavat käyttöön Kempowerin latausratkaisut kasvavalle sähköbussikalustolle Yhdysvalloissa19.8.2026 10:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Yhdysvalloissa Coloradon osavaltiossa Denverin julkiset koulut ovat saaneet käyttöönsä uutta Kempowerin latausinfrastruktuuria piirin kasvavan sähköbussikaluston tarpeisiin Hilltopin bussiterminaaliin. Kempower toimi teollisuuden automaatio- ja sähköratkaisujen toimittaja Winn-Marionin johtamassa hankkeessa laitteistotoimittajana ja teknologiakumppanina. Koulupiiri hankki äskettäin 25 uutta Blue Bird Vision -sähköbussia kasvattaen sähköbussikalustonsa 28:aan, mikä on piirin mukaan Coloradon suurin. Uusi latausinfrastruktuuri on valmiina uuden lukuvuoden alkaessa 24. elokuuta. ”Koulubussikannan sähköistämiseen tarvitaan latausinfrastruktuuria, joka toimii päivittäisten kuljetusaikataulujen vaatimusten mukaisesti”, sanoo Kempowerin Pohjois-Amerikan toimitusjohtaja Monil Malhotra. ”Kempowerin teknologia pitää sähköiset koulubussit ladattuina, käyttövalmiina ja liikenteessä, jotta Denverin julkiset koulut voivat tarjota oppilaille päivittäin luotettavia ja vähäpäästöisiä kuljetuksia.” Buss

The first Kempower Mega Satellite Flex in Sweden will be delivered to Dagab’s depot in collaboration with Erinion18.8.2026 10:00:00 EEST | Press release

The first Swedish delivery of the new Kempower Mega Satellite Flex charging solution will take place at Dagab’s depot in Bålsta in August, with commissioning scheduled for the autumn. Dagab is responsible for the Axfood Group’s supply chain and manages the entire logistics chain from warehousing to transport. The solution is being supplied, commissioned and monitored by Erinion, Kempower’s end-to-end partner for charging infrastructure for heavy-duty fleets and part of the Scania Group. Dagab currently has nearly 40 electric trucks in operation, 13 of which are based at the logistics centre in Bålsta. To meet the growing charging demand, a Kempower Mega Satellite Flex is now being installed, capable of charging both today’s CCS-equipped trucks and next-generation MCS vehicles from the same charging unit. This provides a flexible and future-proof solution as the vehicle fleet continues to be electrified. The platform builds on Kempower’s distributed charging architecture and is being in
