MFA: Finland Toolbox, an open source of information about Finland

Share
The Finland Promotion Board has revised its Finland Toolbox. The presentation toolkit offers information about Finland and themes that are important for the Finns, and it is available for anyone who wants to tell about these matters to international audiences.

The Finland Promotion Board, which is responsible for the coordination of Finland's country branding communications, has updated its Finland Toolbox. Finland Toolbox provides a range of resources for presenting Finland in more than 20 languages. All materials are freely available online for non-commercial purposes.

Examples of Finland Toolbox materials include electronic publications, presentations on such topical subject matters as the basic income and innovations, videos on various themes, and visual elements and graphic presentations like the country ranking series of Finland's position in international surveys. For children, Finland Toolbox offers printable colouring books, based on the Finland emojis published by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Finding relevant materials is easy using the multiple search functions and filters.

In addition to the thematic content, Finland Toolbox offers scientific data, which is essential for Finland's country branding, and strategic policy papers on country branding. Guidelines and elements related to Finland's visual identity are also available in Finland Toolbox.

"Many Finns and friends of 'Finnishness' both in Finland and abroad are willing to tell the story of Finland," says Laura Kamras, Director of the Unit for Public Diplomacy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. "Furthermore, Finland Toolbox is unique in international terms and an important support for our country branding ambassadors around the world at all levels from the grassroots to the official level. We hope that the toolkit becomes widely known and helps spread the message about Finland's strengths and expertise across the world."

The Finland Image Bank, which focuses on pictures of everyday life in Finland and the Finnish lifestyle, can be accessed via Finland Toolbox. The Finland Image Bank is freely available for non-commercial purposes, too.

Finland Toolbox is maintained by the Unit for Public Diplomacy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
