MFA: Studia Generalia public lecture series on return migration and mobility – Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq

During the autumn of 2019, the Migration Institute of Finland and the Finnish Immigration Service will organise a public lecture series under the AUDA project (Voluntary Return to Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia). The AUDA project is implemented in cooperation between the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, the Finnish Immigration Service and the Crisis Management Centre (CMC).

The lectures will discuss return migration and mobility in light of both research data and information based on experience. The first three events will look into the challenges and opportunities related to return to Somalia, Afghanistan and Iraq. The fourth lecture will discuss cross-border mobility and the many dimensions of return migration on a more general level.

The events are open and free of charge. The language of the events will be mainly Finnish, but some of the speeches will be held in English. Hope to see you there!

The AUDA project is funded by the EU Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF), which aims to develop a voluntary return system in cooperation with other EU Member States and returnees’ countries of origin. The full title of the project is Voluntary Return to Iraq, Afghanistan and Somalia.

Utrikesministeriets enkätundersökning: ryssarna förhåller sig negativare till Finland, ungdomarna har positivare inställningar13.10.2023 09:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Enligt den av Finlands ambassad i Moskva beställda enkätundersökningen förhåller sig en dryg tredjedel av de ryssar som svarade på enkäten positivt till Finland. För ett år sedan uppgav ungefär hälften att de är positiva till Finland. Enligt enkätundersökningen har Finlands rykte försämrats främst av att ryska medier har gett en felaktig och negativ bild av Finlands Natomedlemskap. Ungdomarnas inställningar till Finland är positivare.
