President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö will make an official visit to Brazil on 1–2 June 2023.
The visit will begin on Thursday 1 June with a meeting with President of Brazil Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brasília. In their discussions, the Presidents will address as the geopolitical situation, common global challenges, topical regional questions and the bilateral relations between Finland and Brazil.
President Niinistö's programme will also include discussions with, among others, Veneziano Vital do Rêgo, First Vice President of the Federal Senate, and Arthur Lira, President of the Chamber of Deputies.
On Friday 2 June, President Niinistö will visit São Paulo, where he will meet Tarcísio de Freitas, Governor of the State of São Paulo, and participate in a business event organised by the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo. The event will also be attended by representatives of Finnish and Brazilian business and industry.
In Brazil, President Niinistö will be accompanied by a business delegation with representatives from various business sectors.
President Niinistö last visited Brazil in 2016 when he attended the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. The previous presidential visit from Brazil to Finland was made by President of Brazil Dilma Rousseff in 2015.

Samtalet var en uppföljning av mötet i Oslo den 20 oktober och det fördes i samråd med Ukraina. President Stubb och statsminister Støre tog initiativ till samtalet för att diskutera Rysslands anfallskrig mot Ukraina samt de diplomatiska insatserna för att få slut på kriget och främja fred och stabilitet i Europa. Finland och Norge är grannländer till Ryssland. De är starka stödjare av Ukraina. Syftet med samtalet var att direkt förmedla budskap om framtida förhandlingar för att få ett slut på kriget till president Putin. Puhelu oli jatkoa Oslossa 20. lokakuuta pidetylle tapaamiselle. Puhelun valmistelussa konsultoitiin Ukrainaa. The call was a follow-up of the meeting in Oslo on 20 October and held in consultation with Ukraine. Stubb and Støre initiated the call to discuss Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine and the diplomatic efforts to end the war and promote peace and stability in Europe. President Stubb deltar i invigningsceremonin för det akademiska läsåret vid College of Europe, där han håller huvudanförandet. I sitt tal kommer han att behandla Europas framtid. Under besöket träffar presidenten också högskolans ledning och studerande. College of Europe grundades 1949 och erbjuder masterutbildning inom Europastudier med inriktning på ekonomi, juridik och statsvetenskap.
