More than 300,000 DNA TV subscriptions now - TV content both at home and on the move

Share
The number of DNA TV subscriptions has exceeded 300,000. DNA TV combines traditional television, pay TV and programme libraries and brings TV content not only to the television screen but also to mobile devices, making it possible to watch TV with the highest quality possible, whenever and wherever.

In November, the number of DNA TV subscriptions has exceeded 300,000. DNA TV is an uncomplicated solution for TV viewers who want to enjoy TV content wherever they are: for example, watching the big TV screen on their living room couch, at summer cottage, or the mobile phone screen on a car journey with the family.

“Today, people expect broad and diverse content offering that is available on different devices, depending on the situation and programme. This has often led to complicated solutions, which the viewers have found difficult, and therefore the services have not been used as much as they could have been. The idea of DNA TV is to make it as simple as possible to watch TV using different devices, services and networks. The three hundred thousand subscriptions DNA TV has achieved in a little over three years prove that the service is functional and easy to use,” says Jarno Haikonen, Vice President of DNA’s Entertainment Business.

Available on all screens through television and mobile networks

In Finland, TV is watched on several devices - most often on a television set in the cable or terrestrial network and the next most often on a computer. More than a third of all households watch TV on a tablet and/or a smart phone.*)

“The extensive 4G network makes it possible to watch high-quality TV on mobile devices even in the sparsely populated areas of Northern and Eastern Finland. Extensive channel packages and diverse programme libraries can be viewed through DNA TV throughout Finland,” says Haikonen.

The DNA TV subscription includes a TV card, and the DNA TV app for mobile devices, which enable the customer to watch both FTA and pay TV programmes. The service is also available on the computer via a browser. Supplementary services available to the DNA TV subscription enable the viewer to make even more out of their screen time.

Koululaistutkimus: vanhempien huoli pienten lasten älypuhelimista heräsi – ruutuaikaa rajoitetaan nyt kiihtyvällä tahdilla7.8.2025 09:00:00 EEST | Tiedote

Suurin osa vanhemmista rajoittaa 5–12-vuotiaiden lastensa puhelimella viettämää aikaa tavalla tai toisella, selviää DNA:n teettämästä Koululaistutkimuksesta. Siitä huolimatta reilu kolmannes 5–12-vuotiaista viettää puhelimillaan 2–4 tuntia päivässä. Perheissä, joissa lapselle on päätetty hankkia puhelin yhteydenpitoa varten, on entistä useammin päädytty kellopuhelimeen. Kellopuhelimella on helppo rajoittaa lapsen älylaitteilla viettämää aikaa, mutta myös lykätä lapsen oman älylaitteen hankintaa.

School Survey: parents concerned about young children’s smartphone use – screen time is now being restricted at an accelerating rate7.8.2025 09:00:00 EEST | Press release

According to a School Survey commissioned by DNA, most parents limit the amount of time that children aged 5–12 can spend on their phones in one way or another. However, in spite of this, just over a third of 5–12-year-olds spend 2–4 hours a day on their phones. More and more families who want their children to have a phone for contact purposes have decided to get a smartwatch meant for kids. A smartwatch is an easy way to both limit the amount of time a child spends on smart devices and to postpone the purchase of their first smartphone.
