DNA launched 5G networks in Oulu and Raahe
DNA’s 5G network has expanded to Oulu and Raahe. At the moment, Oulu’s 5G services are available in central Oulu, Martinniemi, Linnanmaa, the University of Oulu area, Koskikeskus, Pikisaari, Kello, Pöllönperä and Lopakka. In Raahe, 5G services are available in Lehmiranta, Ollinsaari and Yritysperä.
“The construction of DNA’s 5G network in the Oulu region has progressed according to plan. We will expand Oulu’s 5G network even further during the summer. We are constantly making investments to improve the coverage and capacity of our networks. This enables us to take care of the functioning and development of the network infrastructure that is so important to our society,” says Jarkko Laari, Director, Radio Networks, DNA.
DNA ensures the sufficient capacity and functioning of its connections through a continuous maintenance and development of its 5G and 4G networks. The network is still being built daily throughout Finland, and network management is decentralised to various locations to ensure reliability.
In the near future, DNA’s 5G network is expanding to Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Pirkkala, Heinola, Lahti, Hämeenlinna, Vaasa, Seinäjoki, Pirkkala and Lempäälä.
In addition Oulu and Raahe, DNA’s 5G services are currently available in Helsinki, Vantaa, Espoo, Sipoo, Hyvinkää, Turku, Rusko, Raisio, Lieto, Tampere, Nokia, Ylöjärvi, Rauma and Pori.

Suurin osa vanhemmista rajoittaa 5–12-vuotiaiden lastensa puhelimella viettämää aikaa tavalla tai toisella, selviää DNA:n teettämästä Koululaistutkimuksesta. Siitä huolimatta reilu kolmannes 5–12-vuotiaista viettää puhelimillaan 2–4 tuntia päivässä. Perheissä, joissa lapselle on päätetty hankkia puhelin yhteydenpitoa varten, on entistä useammin päädytty kellopuhelimeen. Kellopuhelimella on helppo rajoittaa lapsen älylaitteilla viettämää aikaa, mutta myös lykätä lapsen oman älylaitteen hankintaa.

According to a School Survey commissioned by DNA, most parents limit the amount of time that children aged 5–12 can spend on their phones in one way or another. However, in spite of this, just over a third of 5–12-year-olds spend 2–4 hours a day on their phones. More and more families who want their children to have a phone for contact purposes have decided to get a smartwatch meant for kids. A smartwatch is an easy way to both limit the amount of time a child spends on smart devices and to postpone the purchase of their first smartphone.
