“It’s a great pleasure to warmly welcome the residents of Kaarina and Naantali to enjoy our 5G services! The launch of the 5G network in these cities complements the 5G coverage in the Turku region. The new updates also strengthen our already fast 4G network in this area,” says Jarkko Laari, Director, Radio Networks, DNA.

During this year, DNA's 5G network has expanded significantly in the city of Turku as well. In addition to the city center and its vicinity, the base station network covers at leastArtukainen, Halinen, Hepokulta, Itäharju, Jäkärlä, Kupittaa, Kurala, Liljalaakso, Moikoinen, Moisio, Nummi, Nättinummi, Raunistula, Runosmäki, Räntämäki, Kaerla, Teräsrautela, Pansio, Perno, Pohjola, Turun satama ja Varissuo.

The population coverage of 1.5 million will be exceeded in November

In the Turku region, and in addition to the city of Turku, DNA’s 5G network has previously been launched in Lieto, Raisio and Rusko. DNA is currently expanding its 5G network particularly in densely populated urban areas and 5G coverage in Turku and neighbouring municipalities is growing rapidly. At the same time, the Home 5G service is also made available for many residential areas across Finland.

DNA’s 5G network is also available in Espoo, Heinola, Helsinki, Hyvinkää, Hämeenlinna, Jyväskylä, Järvenpää, Kauniainen, Kerava, Kuopio, Lahti, Nokia, Oulu, Pirkkala, Pori, Raahe, Rauma, Seinäjoki, Sipoo, Tampere, Tuusula, Vaasa, Vantaa, Ylivieska and Ylöjärvi.

In addition to these 31 areas, the network reaches up to 45 other municipalities with a more local coverage, which means that it’s possible to use DNA’s 5G connection in up to 76 municipalities. DNA announces new 5G locations only when the network serves the region’s most densely populated areas.

DNA’s 5G coverage will approach 1.5 million Finns in November. The network is expanded especially in the already-existing 5G municipalities, although the network will also be launched in new areas. The objective for the rest of the year is to launch a 5G network in at least Kangasala and Nurmijärvi.

Coverage map of DNA’s 5G network and additional information is available at www.dna.fi/5G. There is a delay in updating the coverage map, which is why the newest base stations might not be visible yet.
