The Ateneum to open and admission ticket sales to be transferred to Lippu.fi
19.4.2021 11:02:00 EEST | Ateneumin taidemuseo / Konstmuseet Ateneum / Ateneum Art Museum | Press release

Ticket sales, tickets with yearly cards, and admission for under 18-year-olds
With the strictest coronavirus restrictions in force, all tickets are sold through Lippu.fi. Exhibition tickets cannot be purchased on site at the Ateneum. We are anticipating that there will be great demand for tickets for the Ilya Repin exhibition. This is why the Ateneum has chosen to partner with Lippu.fi, which has diverse channels and a large capacity for ticket sales, even in peak situations.
When purchasing tickets through Lippu.fi, the price of a standard ticket is €19, and the price of a discounted ticket is €17 (students, pensioners, unemployed, conscripts, and non-military conscripts). Admission is free for holders of the Museum Card, but they must purchase a ticket through Lippu.fi. Holders of other free-entry cards as well as groups will be welcome to visit the Ateneum once the strictest coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. There will be a separate announcement on this.
Due to the restrictions on visitor numbers, under 18-year-olds must pay the standard admission fee. When restrictions are relaxed, under 18-year olds are welcome to visit the Ateneum free of charge. However, they must still acquire a ticket through Lippu.fi.
Depending on the chosen delivery method, a Lippu.fi service fee of two euros and a booking fee of at least one euro are added to all prices quoted above, including tickets purchased with free-entry cards.
In addition to being available on the Lippu.fi online service, tickets can be purchased from the Lippu.fi telephone service at +358 600 900 900 (Mon–Fri, 9:00–17:00, €2/minute + mobile call charge/local network charge). Tickets can also be purchased at the Stockmann department store.
When restrictions are relaxed, tickets will also be sold at the museum’s ticket office, if they are available. Only the ticket price of €19 or €17 will be charged for a ticket purchased at the museum.

Staying safe during your visit to the Ateneum
Each admission ticket is sold with an arrival time. Arrival times are staggered at 30-minute intervals. Access for museum visitors who have purchased a ticket is through the entrance on Ateneuminkuja. Visitors can arrive at any time during the 30-minute period stated on their ticket. To avoid crowding, we recommend that not all visitors arrive at the museum at the very beginning of their 30-minute arrival period. After arriving at the museum, visitors can stay at the exhibitions for as long as they want.

Exhibitions on show at the Ateneum
When the museum opens, at first the public will only have access to the Ilya Repin exhibition on the third floor. Later, visitors can also explore the Hannu Väisänen and the Schillmark Variations exhibition in the Fokus gallery, and the Stories of Finnish Art collection exhibition. There will be a separate announcement on this. By restricting access to exhibitions, we ensure the safety of the public visiting the museum. The Ilya Repin exhibition will be on show until Sunday 29 August 2021, and the Hannu Väisänen exhibition until Sunday 8 August 2021.
In addition to the exhibitions, the Ateneum museum shop will be open. The café-restaurant Ateneum Bistro, and Café Ateneum on the third floor, will be open, subject to coronavirus restrictions. Shops and restaurants are accessible without visiting the exhibition, if there is enough space. We comply with all current restrictions on gathering size.
Exhibition intros and guided tours in silent galleries will be held later during the run of the Ilya Repin exhibition, if the existing restrictions allow it. You can purchase individual tickets to virtual guided tours from the Museoshop online shop (only in Finnish). Groups can book their own exhibition intro, guided tour, or virtual guided tour by contacting Finnish National Gallery sales: tel.: +358 294 500 500 (Mon–Fri 10:00–14:00), or e-mail: sales [a] fng.fi.
