Tangkak, Malaysia - Leading DC fast-charging solutions provider Kempower is proud to support its partner WGB and chargEV in deploying Malaysia’s first truck charging hub at Tangkak Pitstop, near the Tangkak Toll Plaza, in the southern state of Johor.

The advanced charging hub, strategically located along the North-South Expressway, offers a total charging capacity of 400kW across 8 charging points and features Kempower’s dynamic technology for optimal efficiency and scalability. To further enhance the hub’s sustainability and resilience, the site is equipped with a 400kWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which helps manage peak electricity demand, reduces strain on the grid, and ensures uninterrupted power supply for EV users.

This landmark charging hub, built to cater to both passenger EVs and commercial vehicles, represents a significant step forward in Malaysia’s EV infrastructure development. Designed to serve the busy route between Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, it addresses the growing need for reliable and high-powered EV charging for commercial fleets. The Tangkak charging hub also offers convenient amenities for drivers, including a food court and toilets operated by the municipal council of Tangkak. The deployment of Kempower's modular and scalable charging solutions ensures that the hub can grow to meet increasing EV adoption in Malaysia.

“We are delighted to be part of the solution to meet the growing needs for interstate charging despite grid capacity limitations. This site exemplifies how charging hubs can support local vendors, boost socio-economic growth, and enhance charging accessibility. We remain committed to providing reliable charging for both light and heavy vehicles across cities,” said Carlo Cecchi, Director, New Markets, Kempower.

“We are committed to making EV travel in Malaysia as frictionless and reliable as conventional fuel-powered journeys,” said SengTeong Chua, Managing Director of chargEV. “Our partnership with Kempower reflects our unwavering commitment to accelerating the transition toward sustainable transportation by expanding a reliable and seamless EV charging infrastructure.”

Together with chargEV, Kempower is enabling the transition to a more sustainable transportation ecosystem in Malaysia and beyond, delivering reliable and scalable solutions that make EV charging accessible for everyone, everywhere.
