Faast Point launches a new public EV charging brand in the Virta charging network with Kempower Station Chargers – Enabling maximum charging speed for most of the EVs on the market
Faast Point, a new Finnish charge point operator (CPO), has launched a new fast charging chain in Finland, enabling maximum charging speed for most of the electric cars on the market. The chain's first DC charging station opened at the Jari-Pekka service station in Joroinen in February. The EV charging station chain brings a new offering to EV drivers on the Finnish roads, with illuminated and roof covered charging areas, using Kempower Station Chargers, Kempower’s all-in-one charger, offering the same reliable and user-friendly charging experience, known from the more widely used Kempower Satellites.

Finland - Faast Point, a new Finnish charge point operator (CPO), has launched a new fast charging chain in Finland, enabling maximum charging speed for most of the electric cars on the market.
Faast Point guarantees that each of their charging points offer a constant charging power of minimum 150 kilowatts, independent of how many cars are charging simultaneously. Depending on the car’s battery capacity, many electric car models can be charged by 50% in around 15 minutes, calculated for a medium or large 80 kWh battery. The maximum charging speed is thus enabled for almost all current EVs on the market. Payment has also been made as easy as possible; all stations allow payment by debit or credit card without registration. Autocharge is also available.
Faast Point will open several stations across Finland in 2025. During spring and early summer 2025, three additional public charging stations will follow, one at Jari-Pekka in Hartola, one in the immediate vicinity of the Helsinki airport, and one in Tapiola, Espoo. Between 2025 and 2026, Faast Point aims to expand the chain by 20-30 stations. The charging stations will be located along the busiest roads, in densely populated urban areas and near shops and services.
Faast Point is using Cactos’ battery energy storage systems to allow several cars to be charged simultaneously at full capacity. With the battery energy storage system, Faast Point can discharge the energy stored in the batteries to the chargers, even when the power from the grid is already used.
Strong Finnish partner network to support Faast Point’s growth
Faast Point has chosen strong domestic partners to implement its plans. The DC charging solutions are supplied from Kempower’s factories in Lahti, through Kempower’s sales partner Virta, which will include the new charging stations in the Virta charging network. The stations are commissioned by Eltel, and the battery energy storage systems come from Finnish Cactos. In fact, Faast Point's EV charging stations are likely to have one of the highest levels of domesticity on the Finnish market.
"We do not want to compromise on the quality of our partners in a major infrastructure investment. With the help of our partners, we can implement a secure package now and in the future as the network expands," said Daniel Pasternack, Chairman of the Board at Faast Point.
“We’re proud to partner with Faast Point, who are elevating the high-power charging network customer experience to a new level by leveraging energy solutions and the strongest partners in the industry. From the power guarantee to the brightly illuminated, rain-sheltering canopy and support for all payment methods, the new Faast concept sets the standard for customer convenience—while maintaining highly competitive pricing, enabled by savings and revenues from energy. All Faast stations are ‘connected to the Virta Network’ and accessible without roaming surcharges to all other Virta platform EMPs’ EV drivers, with normal roaming fees to external EMPs’ drivers, and to unregistred drivers with one-time payments. This ensures maximum utilization of the new stations from day one,” says Henrik Stigzelius, Sales, Virta.
“We’re extremely happy to support Faast Point’s market introduction in Finland, taking a new approach to public charging with Kempower Station Chargers. The launch supports the electrification of the car fleet and the decarbonizing of roads in Finland, while decreasing range anxiety. With the new station openings, EV drivers can quickly charge up their car batteries at important junction points and main roads. Although the charging station design is groundbreaking, EV drivers can rest assured that charging is fast, carefree and easy, with the familiar Kempower charger user-interface,” concludes Erik Kanerva, Sales Director, North Europe at Kempower.
