DNA strengthens cyber threat monitoring and response capabilities for customers in Finland with Google Security Operations.

Google Security Operations is designed to help companies detect, investigate, and respond to threats effectively. The comprehensive, cloud-based platform leverages generative AI and frontline threat intelligence to help  organizations of all sizes defend against current and future threats.

"The operation of the Google Security Operations platform can be compared to a digital burglary alarm system. The system searches for and analyzes anomalies from large amounts of data. When suspicious activity is detected, the system initially makes an independent threat assessment," describes Anna-Mari Ylihurula, Senior Vice President, Corporate Business, DNA Plc.

Security requirements for companies are constantly tightening and also affect small- and medium-sized enterprises. From a business perspective, the Google Security Operations solution significantly speeds up threat response while reducing overall security costs, as the risks of security attacks decrease significantly with the system. This allows the customer company to focus on its core business while meeting the security requirements set for it.

This is How DNA Implements the Service in Finland

For the customer company that acquires the service, a 24/7 security operations center is established together with DNA, which DNA manages. DNA's corporate customers can purchase the SOC solution (Security Operations Center) based on the Google Security Operations platform as a comprehensive security service. DNA must comply with several strict requirements related to, among other things, data storage, and the data of customers who have acquired the SOC service is stored in Google's data centers in the EU.

“We’re pleased to partner with DNA to  deliver an end-to-end Managed defense platform to the Finnish market. DNA has strong security expertise and an established customer support organisation, and they are a good match for our Google Security Operations platform. The collaboration demonstrates how we can combine our strengths to offer our customers enhanced security based on AI, automation and threat intelligence. This will help security teams defend against current and future threats more effectively. We are excited about this opportunity to improve corporate cybersecurity in Finland at a large scale with DNA” comments Google Cloud Finland Country Manager Markus Hongisto.

"With the implemented solution, we can offer comprehensive security services faster, with higher quality, and more cost-effectively. This is a significant step towards better cybersecurity for enterprises in Finland," sums up DNA's Anna-Mari Ylihurula.

The Platform Utilizes Large Amounts of Data and AI

The key features of Google Security Operations can be divided into four main phases:

  1. Data Collection: Google Security Operations collects data from various sources across a customer’s digital environment.
  2. Threat Detection: The collected data is combined with data obtained from threat intelligence and compared. This helps to quickly identify potential threats and risks.
  3. Investigation: Threats are investigated using case management, search, collaboration, and context-aware analyses. This also helps security experts quickly understand the extent and cause of the threat.
  4. Response: Security experts can resolve issues using automated action plans and case management. AI is used to create summaries and recommendations for further actions from the cases.

This announcement is already the second major step in strengthening the collaboration between DNA and Google Cloud this year. In February, an expanding collaboration between DNA and Google Cloud was announced which will accelerate DNA's transition to cloud services and support the provision of fast and reliable services to customers. Through the collaboration, DNA can move local workloads to Google Cloud in line with the company's "cloud first" strategy.

The Google Cloud Summit 2025 will be held on Tuesday, June 11, in Stockholm, Sweden. The event will also provide more information about the Google Security Operations platform and also DNA will be actively participating in the event.

Smartphone use is declining among small children – but limiting the use is not enough20.5.2026 09:15:00 EEST | Press release

DNA is consistently developing children’s digital safety skills together with its partner Protect Children Association, which has been organizing digital safety workshops for young schoolchildren for several years. This spring, the company also distributed digital skills exercise booklets to more than 230,000 Finnish homes. Although children are starting to use smartphones later than before, they still face major risks online – which makes digital safety skills more important than ever. The topic is particularly relevant right now, as school summer holidays begin before many parents start their own vacations. In June, many children spend long periods at home and online without adult supervision, which increases the risk of encountering harmful content or inappropriate contact.
