Petri Kokko appointed executive in residence at Hanken School of Economics
Former Google director, AI expert, and experienced board professional Petri Kokko has been appointed executive in residence at Hanken School of Economics, within the Department of Management and Organisation.

Petri Kokko brings extensive leadership experience from the business world, both in Finland and internationally. He spent 18 years at Google in various leadership roles, most recently as managing director of client solutions for Central Europe. Kokko has also served as country manager for Nike in Finland and currently sits on the boards of companies such as Oras and Arbonaut. He also has a background as a professional figure skater.
The main role of the executive in residence at Hanken is to support the development of teaching and research from a business perspective. In his role, Kokko contributes to Hanken’s AI transformation.
“AI is the biggest change we will see in our lifetimes in education and knowledge work. It’s exciting to be part of this transformation and to help Hanken navigate it,” says Petri Kokko.
Kokko is a Hanken alum and a member of Hanken’s International Advisory Board, which serves as a strategic discussion partner for the rector.
“We are delighted to welcome Petri to an even more active role at Hanken. His broad national and international business experience and expertise in AI further strengthen the School’s strategic development,” says Rector Ingmar Björkman.
