Pumpkin Park charms visitors once again in Salo, October 10–26, 2025

Share

In October, Salo celebrates its traditional Pumpkin Weeks, drawing thousands of visitors to the area each day. The Pumpkin Park at Rannikon Puutarha (Rannikko Garden), located next to the Halikko museum bridge, is one of autumn’s highlights.

Pumpkin Park opens to the public on Friday, October 10, at 6:00 p.m. The spectacular park and its light art will offer experiences for the whole family for more than two weeks, alongside a rich program of themed events and activities across the Salo area.

Showcasing the spirit of Halloween and the harvest season, Pumpkin Park features ever-more picturesque details crafted by the Rannikon Puutarha team for the autumn fields of Halikko. Last year, Pumpkin Park attracted around 200,000 visitors.

“There will be new features at Pumpkin Park again this year—one of the themes is Vikings, highlighting the history of the region. In addition to OP Lounaismaa Cooperative Bank (part of OP Financial Group) and Pohjola Insurance (part of OP Financial Group) partnering with us for the first time, this year’s Pumpkin Weeks will bring together more side events, companies, and associations than ever before. Together, we are more than 1 + 1—we’re at least five!” says Esa Rannikko of Rannikon Puutarha.

The Salo Region Entrepreneurs Association has registered the Pumpkin Weeks brand around the Rannikon Puutarha Pumpkin Park, enabling companies to join under a shared umbrella with their own expertise. Operating together increases visibility, helps customers find information in one place, and ensures everyone benefits: Pumpkin Park, local businesses, and visitors. By pulling together, we can create a fantastic autumn event—pumpkin together, you might say.

“Free Pumpkin Buses will once again run to Pumpkin Park on Saturdays and Sundays between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Buses depart from Salo railway station on the hour and half past, heading to the Halikko Church stop. The last return bus leaves Halikko Church at 10:00 p.m.,” says Karolina Blom, Event Coordinator for the City of Salo.

Pumpkins have become a symbol of autumn in Salo. The event has grown into a celebration for the entire region, attracting international visitors as well. This year, Pumpkin Weeks will expand its social media content to include English texts.
