Fingrid investigates unusual activation in the aFRR energy market
Since 15 November, exceptionally little aFRR energy has been activated in the aFRR energy market compared to the usual level. According to a preliminary investigation, no aFRR control signal for Nordic frequency restoration has been allocated to Fingrid, resulting in a lower than normal need for aFRR activation in Finland.
Fingrid will provide updates on the progress of the investigation and the resolution of the fault situation.
The automatic Frequency Restoration Reserve (aFRR) energy market is a real-time market from which Fingrid procures aFRR reserve to balance the power system. In the market, the price of aFRR energy is determined for each 4-second market period based on the real-time activation signal and aFRR energy market bids. Fingrid has joined the European aFRR energy market platform (PICASSO).

Itäisen Suomen kantaverkko on saanut merkittävän vahvistuksen Pohjois-Savossa, kun uusi voimajohtoyhteys Kajaanin Vuolijoelta Lapinlahdelle valmistui syyskuussa. Nyt valmistunut voimajohto on osa laajempaa Järvilinjan vahvistamishanketta, joka kokonaisuudessaan valmistuu syksyllä 2026. Valmistuttuaan hanke parantaa alueelle suunniteltujen investointien liitettävyyttä kantaverkkoon.

Tasevastaavilta laskutettava tuotannon ja kulutuksen volyymimaksu on 1,35 euroa megawattitunnilta. Fingrid ei laskuta tasevastaavilta kyseistä volyymimaksua joulukuulta, koska tasepalvelumaksuilla katettavat reservikustannukset ovat säilyneet ennustettua alemmalla tasolla. Muut tasepalvelun maksut peritään normaalisti joulukuussa. Sähköjärjestelmän nopea kehitys, reservikapasiteetin hinnan vaihtelut sekä kasvava reservien hankintatarve haastavat tasepalvelun kustannusten ennustamista. Fingrid kehittää reservimarkkinoita tavoitteenaan tarjonnan kasvu kaikilla reservimarkkinoilla ja markkinaehtoinen järjestelmän tasapainotus joka tilanteessa. The volume fee for production and consumption charged from balance responsible parties is EUR 1.35 per megawatt hour. Fingrid will not invoice the balance responsible parties for the volume fee in question for December, because the reserve costs covered by the balance service fees have remained at a lower level than forecasted. The rapid development of the electricity system, fluctuations in the price of reserve capacity and the growing need to acquire reserves challenge the forecasting of balance service costs. Fingrid is developing the reserve market with the aim of increasing supply in all reserve markets and market-based balancing of the system in all situations. Fitch Ratings har sänkt Fingrid Oyj:s kreditintyg till ’A’; utsikterna stabila17.11.2025 19:45:00 EET | Pressmeddelande
Det internationella kreditvärderingsinstitutet Fitch Ratings sänkte Fingrid Oyj:s långfristiga kreditbetyg till nivån ’A’ från nivån ’A+’. Fitch har även ändrat Fingrids Standalone Credit Profile (SCP) till ’a’ från ’a+’ samt betyget för bolagets icke-säkerställda och icke-efterställda skulder till ’A+’ från ’AA-’. Samtidigt fastställde Fitch bolagets kortsiktiga kreditbetyg till nivån ’F1’. Betygen har stabila utsikter. Kreditvärderingarna inkluderar inga höjningar som härleds från finska statens majoritetsägande.
