Kempower and DCB Energy partner to develop the Benelux region’s largest public truck charging network
12.3.2026 10:30:14 EET | Kempower Oyj | Press release
- DCB Energy has enlisted Kempower’s fast charging technology as it builds a nationwide truck charging network to support the logistics transition
- The flagship site in Meer, Belgium, has already launched, along with a further four sites, with another three sites due to launch this year as the network is developed
- DCB Energy has been expanding its services to incorporate EV charging for several years in response to the rapidly progressing e-mobility transition in the Netherlands

Kempower, the Finnish DC fast charging manufacturer, has partnered with Dutch fuel company DCB Energy to develop the largest public truck charging network in the Benelux region to date. The partnership will see Kempower’s charging infrastructure installed at eight of DCB Energy’s sites in total, seven of which are in the Netherlands.
DCB Energy’s flagship store in Transportzone Meer, located in Belgium, near the Dutch border, was the first site to be fitted with Kempower infrastructure – 10 truck charge points and 2 passenger EV charge points were installed during the summer of last year. A further four installations have also been completed in the Dutch cities of Aalsmeer, Assen, Waalwijk and Breda. The other new charging locations yet to launch will be in Schiphol Amsterdam and Rotterdam, which will have two sites.
Overall, 12.8 MW of new charging capacity will be created as the two companies seek to support logistics companies and other fleets to confidently make the transition towards electric vehicles.
Across the eight sites, Kempower has supplied 17 Kempower Satellites and 24 Kempower Station Chargers, creating 64 new charging points across the country. The Kempower Satellites receive power from Kempower Power Units, which can be kept up to 80m away from the charging dispensers, while the Kempower Station Chargers are an all-in-one solution which integrate the cabinet design of the Power Unit with the Satellite’s user interface.
The chargers can each deliver up to 400kW of distributed power to charging vehicles, meaning that the level of power delivered dynamically shifts depending on the connected EVs’ real-time charging needs. This optimizes charging time and minimizes queues at busy public charging stations like DCB Energy’s.
The project is being managed by Contrall and the installation is being led by TSG Energy, which has collaborated with Kempower numerous times on other projects across Europe. It comes as part of DCB Energy’s wider efforts to diversify its services to meet the growing demand for EV charging in the Netherlands.
Han Dix, Country Manager for Benelux at Kempower, said: “We are exceptionally proud to be supporting DCB Energy in their ambitious but vital endeavour to bolster public truck charging in the Netherlands. The logistics industry is amongst the hardest to electrify since trucks have such significant charging needs, so extensive public charging networks like this will be crucial to securing a successful transition.”
Carola Berkel, owner of DCB Energy, said: “This project will see us become the biggest truck charging provider in the Netherlands this year, so it was important to us that we found a partner with a trusted reputation in the truck charging market and the local expertise required to build a strong network of partners. Kempower has proven to live up to its industry esteem in abundance, and the team has supported us to deliver an already successful project.”
