Hanken School of Economics appoints new deans

The Board of Hanken School of Economics has appointed Gyöngyi Kovács and Kim Ittonen as deans at its meeting on 15 April 2026. In addition, four associate deans were appointed: Christina Dahlblom, Sören Kock, Nikodemus Solitander and Sofia Stolt.

Gyöngyi Kovács and Kim Ittonen are appointed deans for a three-year term starting on 1 August 2026. Kovács will concentrate on research, while Ittonen will be responsible for education, and also represents the university’s Vaasa campus.
In addition to the two deans, four associate deans were appointed. Christina Dahlblom will continue as associate dean for executive education and corporate relations, while Nikodemus Solitander will continue as associate dean responsible for sustainability. Sören Kock was appointed as a new associate dean responsible for the ENGAGE.EU collaboration, and Sofia Stolt is the new associate dean responsible for pedagogical development and language policy.
The associate deans are also appointed for a three-year term from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2029. However, the terms of Christina Dahlblom and Sören Kock will end already on 31 July 2028.
