FinnBuild, Finland’s leading trade fair for construction and building services, will once again bring together industry professionals at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre from 29 September to 1 October 2026.

FinnBuild 2025 yleiskuva

The event highlights how new technologies are being applied in practice across the construction sector – from AI-driven solutions and smart building management to energy-efficient systems and circular material flows. FinnBuild offers a comprehensive overview of the innovations shaping a more sustainable, efficient and resilient built environment.

Finland is widely recognised as a frontrunner in building technology and energy-efficient solutions. At FinnBuild, visitors gain first-hand insight into cutting-edge applications and real-world implementations developed by Finnish and international companies operating at the forefront of the industry.

Building services engineering and Finnish expertise on display

Building services technology is at the heart of FinnBuild and forms the event’s largest exhibition area. The showcase covers everything from HVAC and cooling technologies to building automation and smart systems.

Visitors can explore solutions that enable energy-efficient, healthy and high-performing indoor environments – areas where many Finnish companies are internationally recognised leaders. The exhibition provides a unique opportunity to experience how advanced building technologies are applied in practice.

Technology in practice: from AI to smart construction

Artificial intelligence, digitalisation and new production models are rapidly reshaping construction processes. FinnBuild explores how these technologies can improve productivity, quality and sustainability while reducing administrative workload and enabling smarter project management.

One of the key international highlights is the Construction 2030 keynote by Antti Peltokorpi (Aalto University), which examines the future of construction and the role of AI, industrialised building methods and digital tools in addressing industry challenges.

Another featured session, From Compliance to Competitive Advantage, looks at how new EU requirements such as Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and Digital Product Passports (DPPs) are transforming the market – and how companies can turn regulatory change into business opportunities.

Energy transition, circular economy and resilience reshaping the built environment

The built environment plays a central role in the energy transition, as electrification accelerates and demand for energy-efficient solutions continues to grow. FinnBuild highlights how buildings can be designed, equipped and operated to meet future energy requirements, while addressing Finland’s evolving energy landscape – from increasing electricity demand to innovations in energy efficiency, storage and smart consumption.

At the same time, material use and resource efficiency are becoming increasingly central to construction. FinnBuild showcases how circular economy principles are being implemented in practice, from the reuse of materials to new low-carbon solutions and scalable business models.

Together, these developments are redefining how construction responds to broader challenges such as climate change, geopolitical uncertainty and economic volatility. The programme underlines the growing need for resilient, adaptable and future-proof built environments, while offering visitors the opportunity to explore both strategic insights and practical solutions on the exhibition floor.

Industry dialogue and policy direction in focus

FinnBuild serves as a key platform for dialogue between industry leaders, companies and policymakers. Panel discussions (held primarily in Finnish) address themes such as energy, materials, project delivery and the overall direction of the construction sector.

A dedicated panel organised by the Confederation of Finnish Construction Industries will bring together political decision-makers and industry leaders ahead of Finland’s upcoming parliamentary elections. The discussion will focus on housing, infrastructure, skills and the green transition – issues that directly shape the future of both the sector and the Finnish economy.

A meeting place for the future of construction

FinnBuild combines expert insights, practical solutions and industry dialogue in one event. With nearly 19,000 professional visitors in 2024, it is the key meeting place for construction and building services professionals in Northern Europe.
