The theme of the EAOHP2026 Conference is ‘Mental health at work: From research to policy and practice’. The event will be held at the University of Helsinki Main Building, Fabianinkatu 33. Welcome to follow the presentations and interview the researchers!

The conference is organised by the European Academy of Occupational Health Psychology (EAOHP) in collaboration with the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health, the University of Helsinki, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, and the City of Helsinki.
The opening of the EAOHP 2026 Conference on 15.6. at 9 am is featuring welcomes e.g. from Laura Rissanen, the State Secretary to the Minister of Social Security followed by the Policy Session “Global Trends and the Future of Policy Making on Mental Health at Work”. This session brings together policymakers at global, European and national levels to discuss global trends and the future of policy-making on mental health at work.

Keynote speakers of EAOHP2026 are Professor Jari Hakanen from the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health and Professor Sabine Sonnentag from the University of Mannheim, Germany.
Jari Hakanen’s keynote on 16 June at 11:45–12:30 is titled:
“Employee Well-being, Threats, and Solutions – Research and Practical Tools”

“Capturing Work Life in Real Time: Innovations in Intensive Longitudinal Methods for Occupational Health Psychology” See live stream.

The conference will bring together approximately 850 researchers, psychologists, occupational health professionals, and other participants from 42 countries. The programme includes about 400 oral and poster presentations. Approximately 30 volunteers will assist in organising the conference.

EAOHP is a non-profit organisation that supports research and education in occupational health psychology (OHP) in Europe. OHP is the scientific discipline dedicated to understanding how the characteristics of work and the work environment, and their interplay with the macro-level social, economic, political, technological and ecological context, determine workers’ health, safety and wellbeing, and therefore organisational and societal prosperity and sustainability. The Conferences have been organized biannually since 1999, and this is the 17th Conference from the Academy. President of EAOHP is Professor Stavroula Leka.

A study by the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is the first to provide comparable data on the well-being at work in private social welfare and healthcare companies. The results show small differences between the private and public sectors. Recovery is a key concern: 40 per cent of respondents reported recovering well.
