Honkatalot, in collaboration with internationally acclaimed Norwegian architect Snorre Stinessen, is launching a new byStinessen collection that brings exceptionally bold and sculptural architecture to the Finnish housing market, executed with wooden structures. Despite the prolonged economic downturn in the construction sector, Honkatalot sees growth potential in genuinely customized architectural solutions and sustainable wooden construction. The first phase, featuring a set of five models, represents a new form of living where luxury is born from unique architecture, carefully designed spatial experiences, healthy living, and a strong connection to the surrounding nature. The collection offers a new perspective on the possibilities of Finnish wooden construction, the changing definition of modern log and wood construction, and the implementation of international top architecture in Finland.

Architect Snorre Stinessen

Snorre Stinessen is known for his distinctive architecture that strongly responds to the surrounding landscape. His designed projects have been widely published in international architecture and design media, and his office has received numerous international recognitions. In 2025, Snorre Stinessen Architecture was awarded as the audience favorite in the Architizer A+ Awards competition as the world's best very small-scale architectural firm. The competition is often referred to as the Oscars of architecture.

Honkatalot and Snorre Stinessen have long collaborated on demanding international projects, and the collection now being presented was inspired by these joint projects. The most well-known result of their collaboration is the Aurora Lodge in Lyngen, Norway, where wood, glass, and steel merge with the surrounding arctic landscape in an exceptional manner.

Aurora Lodge is designed to provide both complete privacy and expansive panoramic views. The site has been awarded in competitions such as the LIV Hospitality Design Awards, OPAL Award, and International Architecture Award, and has been extensively featured in architecture and travel media.
