Nordic and international experts convene for Nordic Climate Dialogues 2026

Nordic Climate Dialogues is returning for its second edition on 29 September 2026 at Hanaholmen Cultural Centre. Organised by the Nordic Development Fund (NDF), the joint Nordic financial institution working at the nexus of climate and development, the event builds on the momentum of last year’s successful Dialogues. 

Biodiversity and nature-positive finance are at the heart of this year’s event. Nordic Climate Dialogues will address nature and biodiversity as integral components of climate finance, recognising their essential role in strengthening climate resilience, managing risk and delivering long-term impact. Discussions will consider how to scale financing for resilience and adaptation, better connect climate and biodiversity investments and accelerate the effective implementation of nature-positive solutions.

During the first session, which will be broadcast online, speakers will explore the role of the Nordic region in a rapidly evolving global climate and development landscape. As shifting global priorities place increasing pressure on public budgets and international cooperation, discussions will focus on how partnerships can help strengthen resilience, protect biodiversity and accelerate climate action. The session will also delve into how collaboration with partners across regions, including those most vulnerable to climate change, can help translate shared ambitions into practical action.

As resilience rises on the agenda across both the Nordic region and globally, Nordic Climate Dialogues will examine how climate and development finance can help societies adapt and prosper in the face of growing environmental, economic and geopolitical challenges. Speakers will reflect on how Nordic approaches to collaboration, innovation and sustainable development can help build resilient communities and economies globally.

This year, NDF partners with Hanaholmen, WWF Finland, Climate Policy Initiative, the World Climate Foundation and the Investment Mobilisation Collaboration Alliance (IMCA) to bring Nordic Climate Dialogues 2026 to life.
