Pumpkin Park opens at a new location – new Pumpkin Bus makes getting there easier

"Pumpkin Park is undergoing a major renewal this year thanks to its new location. Visitors will find plenty of new attractions as well as improved versions of familiar favourites. We are offering themed event days, and through cooperation with local businesses there will also be hands-on experiences for visitors. This year's theme is primary food production, and guests will have the opportunity to discover unique flavours created from ingredients grown in our own garden," says Esa Rannikko, entrepreneur at Rannikon Puutarha.

Pumpkin Park's new address is Vaskiontie 50, Halikko. The park is open daily from 9–18 October, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., with the official opening celebration taking place on 9 October at 6:00 p.m. The park is partially accessible and admission is free of charge.

Pumpkin Bus makes access easier

This year, the event is easier to reach by public transport than ever before. Salo's local public transport service Paikku Route 622 will operate as the Pumpkin Bus from 9–18 October, connecting Salo Railway Station, Halikko, Pumpkin Park and Märynummi.

Services will run daily from afternoon until late evening between 12:10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. The Pumpkin Bus operates hourly between noon and 2:00 p.m., every 30 minutes between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m., every 15 minutes between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., and every 30 minutes between 9:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.

"Thanks to the Pumpkin Bus, visiting Pumpkin Park without a private car is easier than ever. Parking spaces are limited, so if you arrive in Salo by car, we encourage you to leave your vehicle in one of the designated free parking areas and continue by bus. Paikku ticket prices range from just €1.65 to €4.00 depending on age and payment method. All tickets include a two-hour transfer period, allowing passengers to change routes without additional charge," says Karolina Blom, Event Coordinator for the City of Salo.

Light art, markets and experiences for the whole family

The Pumpkin Weeks programme extends across the Salo region and includes light art, culture, markets and a variety of themed events.

Highlights of the programme include:

• Echo of Light (Valon Kaiku) light art event at Halikko Church, 9–18 October
• Ghost Museum in Mathildedal, 9–25 October
• Pumpkin Weeks Motorshow, 9–11 October
• Visit valo - Visit the light at Salo Art Museum Veturitalli, from 3 October onwards
• Kekri Harvest Markets at Rikalanmäki, 10–11 October and 17–18 October
  
  

The Pumpkin Weeks programme is created in cooperation with numerous local businesses and associations, each contributing their own autumn experiences to the event. The collaboration is coordinated by Salo Entrepreneurs Association.

The goal of Pumpkin Weeks is to provide memorable experiences for visitors of all ages while strengthening Salo's position as one of Finland's most attractive autumn travel destinations.
