INVITATION for the media 8 October – Emma Talbot: You Are Not the Centre and Leena Luostarinen – Misfit

The media event will feature speeches, starting at 10 am, from Museum Director Arja Miller, Head of Exhibitions Kati Kivinen, artist Emma Talbot, as well as Curator Satu Metsola and Collections Registrar Vilma Roine.

Emma Talbot: You Are Not the Centre is the British contemporary artist’s first solo exhibition in Finland. The grand, arched hall of Tennis Palace will be filled with the artist’s vibrant silk paintings, textile sculptures and drawings. The exhibition will run from 9 October 2026 to 25 April 2027, and is curated by HAM’s Head of Exhibitions Kati Kivinen.

Leena Luostarinen – Misfit brings together for the first time the full ensemble of the artist’s monumental paintings held in HAM's collection. The exhibition explores the life and work of an artist who unwaveringly forged her own path and created one of the most distinctive visual worlds in Finnish art. The exhibition will run from 9 October 2026 to 4 April 2027, and is curated by HAM’s Curator Satu Metsola and HAM’s Collections Registrar Vilma Roine.
