KaapeliWalks take you on a journey to the Cable Factory

Guided tours were born out of demand

- We get a lot of inquiries of people who want to come and have a closer look at Cable Factory, the managing director of the property management company Kiinteistö Oy Kaapelitalo Kai Huotari says.

During the guided tours, the visitors are taken to the corridors and behind the scenes in the Cable Factory. They hear stories about the eventful history of the house and get a deeper insight into the changes in the Finnish society from the time of industrialization to the rise of the creative class. How did the factory transform from a cable manufacturing plant into Finland's largest cultural center?

Visitors will have an opportunity to take a peek into the artists’ studios, see pearls from the movie archives with the factory as a background setting and test their playing skills in Poppikoppi, a rehearsal studio for bands.

- We are very proud of the building’s history and its rich and varied present, Huotari says.

Each tour is unique, depending on the guide and the group's wishes. In the beginning, tours will be arranged once a week every Saturday afternoon, but, additional rounds are possible in the spring.

Customized tours for conference guests, groups and business events are also possible.
