Founded in 1958, our research and education community is 13 000 students and 2900 employees strong, and one of the biggest and the most multidisciplinary universities in Finland. The eight faculties and many specialized research units of the University of Oulu create the foundation for multiscientific research, innovation and training of experts for demanding professional tasks.
