DNA Mobile Certificate deployed in Lahti

Residents in Lahti, Heinola, Hollola, Hämeenkoski, Nastola and Orimattila can use the services provided by their city via the Internet service portal Palvelutarjotin. From this day onwards, services can also be accessed with a mobile certificate.

Mobile certificates can be used in all types of electronic service delivery, and they facilitate the life of both service providers and service users, who in this case are the residents of the municipalities, says Cedric Kamtsan , Business Director at DNA and in charge of DNA's mobile certificate services.

Mobile certificates became available on a larger scale in June, when major operators in Finland began granting mobile certificates to consumers.

An applicable SIM card is a requirement of mobile certificate use. All customers who use Palvelutarjotin services with a DNA mobile subscription can obtain a certified SIM card for free from a local DNA Store, and register as certificate users either at the store or with their banking credentials at www.dna.fi/mobiilivarmenne. With a mobile certificate obtained from their operator, consumers can use all services that utilise mobile certificates irrespective of the operator used by the service provider.

A mobile certificate is a service attached to the SIM card of a mobile phone, enabling the identification of an online service user. With the certificate, users can identify themselves when logging into electronic services or using digital signatures. Mobile identification is a safe and reliable form of identification that takes place as an encrypted process, separate from the actual service transaction. Mobile certificates can be used by all post-paid mobile subscribers who are looking for a secure and easy way to identify themselves when using various services. Certificates are compatible with nearly all mobile phones used in Finland, regardless of the operator used by the consumer or the service provider. Mobile certificates can also be used in private transactions between individuals.
