Kiilto Ventures invests in Birdsview to transform concrete inspection with non-destructive scanning technology
17.8.2026 10:30:00 EEST | Kiilto | Press release
Birdsview, a Norwegian construction technology company developing advanced concrete scanning solutions, has secured EUR 3.7 million in new funding. The round brings together a strong Nordic investor consortium including Kiilto Ventures, Sarsia, Butterfly Ventures, Proptechfonden, Nordic Makers and Momentum, alongside several existing investors.

The funding will support Birdsview's commercial expansion, industrial scaling and international growth as demand increases for technologies that help extend the lifecycle of buildings, bridges and other concrete infrastructure.
Birdsview has developed a hardware and software platform that functions as an "MRI for concrete", enabling users to inspect concrete structures without drilling or causing damage. By combining advanced sensors, including ground penetrating radar (GPR), LiDAR and 3D tracking technology, with proprietary software and AI-powered analytics, the company generates detailed, BIM-ready digital models of structures with millimeter-level accuracy.
The technology helps construction and engineering professionals locate reinforcement and other embedded elements while reducing the need for costly and risky destructive testing. This is particularly valuable in renovation and retrofit projects, where accurate information about existing structures can significantly improve planning, safety and resource efficiency.
Since launching its technology in January 2025, Birdsview has scanned more than 100 concrete structures, ranging from buildings to bridges. Following the start of product pre-sales in March 2026, customers in eight countries have already adopted the solution. The company has also collaborated with leading international construction and engineering organisations including Vinci, Bouygues Construction, EllisDon, Sweco, Asplan Viak and Rambøll.
"As the construction industry seeks more sustainable ways to maintain, renovate and extend the life of existing structures, technologies that improve decision-making while reducing waste and unnecessary interventions become increasingly important. We believe Birdsview has strong potential to create value across the built environment and are excited to support the company's next phase of growth," says Matti Rönkkö, Managing Director of Kiilto Ventures.
The investment aligns with Kiilto Ventures' focus on innovative technologies that contribute to more sustainable construction and resource-efficient use of existing assets. By enabling more accurate assessment of concrete structures, Birdsview's solution can help reduce unnecessary demolition, optimise renovation planning and support longer service life for infrastructure.
"This funding round is an important milestone for Birdsview. With EUR 3.7 million secured, and a Nordic investor consortium that understands both our technology and our market, we now have the resources to scale commercially and industrially across multiple countries. The fact that customers in eight countries have already chosen Birdsview Concrete just weeks after launch shows that we are solving a real problem for the industry,” says Olav Skogen, CEO of Birdsview.
